★ PLANO DISTRICT WINNERS 2025
Coyotronics is FRC Team 8816 — a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit robotics organization out of Frisco, Texas. What started at a single school has grown into a district-wide CTE program uniting 150+ members from all 12 Frisco ISD high schools.
We design, build, and code competition robots — but our real mission is the pipeline: mentoring elementary, middle, and high school students into the next generation of engineers, programmers, and leaders.
Every season runs on five sub-teams working in sync — from raw aluminum to thousands of lines of code to the outreach that fuels it all.
Designs and fabricates the robot's drivetrain, mechanisms, and structure — machining, laser cutting, 3D printing, and assembly under real competition deadlines.
CAD · MANUFACTURING · ASSEMBLYWires the robot to life — power distribution, motor controllers, sensors, and pneumatics, plus PID tuning and the electrical architecture that keeps every system talking.
WIRING · SENSORS · POWERWrites thousands of lines of student code — a progressive curriculum from simple mechanisms to full drivetrains, plus weekly FRC programming education for 20+ outside teams.
JAVA · CONTROLS · AUTONOMOUSKeeps the team funded and the story told — sponsorships, fundraising, branding, finances, and media that power every season.
SPONSORS · FUNDRAISING · MEDIABrings robotics to the community — mentoring FLL & FTC teams, running YASS programming workshops for 20+ teams, reaching 130+ businesses and 150+ professors, and leading the women-led STEMing Change initiative.
COMMUNITY · MENTORSHIP · STEM FOR ALLThe moment 8816 came to life — our minimum viable product, powered up for the very first time.
